Building Your Profile
Now that you’ve set up an account, let’s explore how to start building your “resume”.
Let’s start with the basics:
- Profile picture and personal information
- Resume summary
- About me
- Experience
- Skills
Profile picture and personal information
It is best practice to use a professional picture and your latest contact information for digital resumes.
Resume summary
A resume summary is a short description at the top of your resume that describes your experience, qualities and skills. Including a resume summary allows you to showcase your strongest assets right away.
About me
The “About Me” section should include a brief introduction of your current “title”, highlights of your relevant skills, and a summarization of your current career goals.
Experience
It is best practice to keep your profile updated with your latest work and academic experience. For “Work Experience” you can add any internship, part-time, or full time job. For “Academic Experience” update yours with the school you’re currently enrolled at.
