Transparent AI

Transparency in AI refers to the ability of a system to provide information about its operation and results, including a description of the data used, the algorithms employed, and the decision-making process.

Data Provenance

Data provenance refers to understanding the origin and history of data. AI should tell you WHY it knows what it knows, and where did it learn from (data provenance) to say what it said.

Data Lineage

Data lineage focuses on the movement and transformation of data throughout its lifecycle. Other Generative AI models obscure data lineage, and provenance.

AI Principles
  1. Trusted.  We will use trusted data sources and vetted guidance and resources.
  2. Transparent & Explainable. We will provide data provenance, lineage and algorithms in plain language understandable to the end user.
  3. Private & Secure. The user owns their data, and we will protect the privacy and security of the users’ data which is provided to Career Highways.
Our Career Ontology

Career Highways has created a Career ontology inclusive but not limited to:  Careers, Jobs, Training/Education, Certs, Employers, Training Providers, Students/Job Seekers and more. 

Data Provenance & Lineage
  • We use trusted data sources and source directly from employers/providers (versus aggregators) or LLM’s to build our Career Language Model.
  • If external AI services are used:
    • Q&A will be audited before incorporation into the Career Language Model and before being presented to the end user.
    • Models may be used for syntax or language translation.  No PII is shared with an external LLM.
  • Identified user data is never shared to public LLM’s.
Data Ownership

Users own their data.  Data and behavioral information is collected with consent.  User data is not sold to third parties.  User PII is not shared with third-parties unless consent is obtained or the user elects to share the information directly.  

Education

Education is a key component of the CH mission to upskill all users and prepare them for the future of work.  Career Highways uses our AI to provide this guidance and upskilling, as well as providing lessons and curriculum for users which include this guidance. 

We do not want users to blindly use the tools without an understanding of how they work, how they assist users, where there are gaps and that users should maintain control of their career plan and ultimately make their career choices.
